Personal trainer Isle of Man
One-to-one training built around your clinical picture, not a generic programme. Outdoor, indoor, or at home. The objective is always the same: preserve the muscle and physical capacity that determines how you age.

Most personal training starts with what you want to look like. This does not. It starts with a clinical assessment of where your body actually is: muscle mass, body composition, movement quality, pain, metabolic health. From that picture, we build a programme with a defined purpose.
The distinction matters because the training required to preserve muscle mass in a fifty-five-year-old is not the same as the training required to prepare a thirty-year-old for a triathlon. The exercises may look similar. The loading, the sequencing, the recovery intervals, and the specific muscles being targeted are entirely different. Generic programmes, however enthusiastically delivered, cannot account for this.
Isabella Hawke has worked with adults on the Isle of Man who have been told to exercise more and have exercised more without meaningful result. The reason is almost always that the programme was not matched to the physiology. That is what a clinically directed personal training programme changes.
The muscle you have at sixty largely determines your metabolic rate, your fall risk, your ability to recover from illness, and your independence in later life. The time to address this is not when the deficit becomes obvious. It is now, when the trajectory can still be reversed.
Three environments, one clinical approach
The environment is chosen based on your preference and what the clinical picture calls for. The programming principle does not change: the stimulus must be sufficient to produce adaptation.
Outdoor training
Training in the open air
The Isle of Man has coastline, hills, parks, and trails that most people walk past and never use as a training tool. Outdoor sessions are structured around your clinical picture from the Longevity MOT and adapted to the terrain. Cardiovascular work, functional strength, loaded carries, hill intervals. The objective is the same as any other session: preserve muscle, build capacity, extend the years in which your body does what you need it to do.
Suitable for adults who move well enough to work outdoors and want training that does not feel like a gym. Sessions structured around function, not appearance.
Indoor training
In-clinic and gym sessions
For clients who need access to resistance equipment, targeted loading, or the controlled environment that makes precision programming possible. Indoor sessions allow close monitoring of form, progressive overload tracking, and the kind of technical coaching that produces measurable structural change rather than effort for its own sake. This is not general fitness instruction. It is directed training with a defined clinical objective.
Suitable for clients following a Longevity MOT recommendation for structured resistance training, body composition change, or post-rehabilitation strength building.
Home training
Training at your home
Not every client wants to travel for training. Home sessions bring the same clinical approach to your own space. Programming is designed around what you have available. Bodyweight, resistance bands, dumbbells, or nothing at all beyond the floor and your own body. The principle is consistent: the stimulus must be sufficient to produce a neuromuscular adaptation, regardless of the environment it is delivered in.
Suitable for clients with mobility constraints, busy schedules, or a preference for training privately in a familiar environment.
Why this is not conventional personal training
01
You start with an assessment
Every personal training client begins with a Longevity MOT. It gives us a complete clinical picture before we prescribe a single exercise. Most clients have never had that before. Most training programmes have never been built around one.
02
The objective is function, not performance
We are not training you for a competition. We are training you to maintain the physical capacity that determines your quality of life in your sixties, seventies, and eighties. That changes which exercises we use, how we load them, and how we measure progress.
03
Muscle mass is the target, not calories
The research is clear: muscle mass is the single strongest predictor of metabolic health, fall risk, and all-cause mortality in older adults. Every session is designed to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and counteract the sarcopenic process that begins in most adults from the mid-thirties.
04
Programming evolves with your clinical picture
As your body changes, the programme changes. Body composition measurements, strength progression, and movement quality are all tracked. You are not repeating the same session indefinitely. The stimulus is progressively adjusted to continue producing adaptation.
Adults who want more than general fitness advice
This service is for adults on the Isle of Man who are active, or want to become active, but are not getting results from general gym attendance or group classes. It is for adults who are noticing changes in their body composition that are not responding to the same approach that worked a decade ago. It is for adults recovering from injury or managing pain who need training that works around what their body can currently do.
It is not for adults who want a motivational cheerleader. Isabella's approach is direct, evidence-based, and built around clinical findings. You will know exactly what we are doing, why we are doing it, and what we expect it to produce. The sessions are demanding in the sense that matters: they are precisely calibrated to produce a physiological response. They are not arbitrarily difficult.
All personal training clients begin with a Longevity MOT. The £97 assessment fee is separate and is not redeemable against any programme. It is the only way to build a programme worth following.
